Financial Aid Documents
| Financial Aid ApplicationNUJLS offers limited financial aid scholarships for students to help supplement the cost of travel and conference registration fees. These scholarships are based on financial need. We strive to offer as much aid as possible but are unable to meet the needs of every individual.
We encourage all students seeking financial aid to fill out the attached form by January 9th. Students will only receive financial aid once they have registered and payed for the conference in full. Financial aid will be offered as a reimbursement to students who receive financial aid. External Financial SupportIn addition to financial aid from NUJLS, there are multiple outlets to find financial aid and scholarships to attend NUJLS. Whether you are seeking support to cover registration fees, or need support for travel expenditures, we have complied a list of external sources of support:
- Your home Rabbi and Cantor's discretionary funds (see attached letter) - Your home synagogue youth scholarship funds - Local LGBT and allied synagogues - Your University Hillel - Campus LGBT Resource Center - University student organizations - University conference and travel scholarships - Local Jewish Federation - Community LGBT Center Between your Jewish and LGBT community, there are numerous organizations that are there to support you in your endeavor to engage in the Jewish LGBT community. If you need help identifying some of these resources within your local community, we encourage you to reach out to your Hillel and campus LGBT center to identify area and campus specific resources. Further, we have created a financial aid/scholarship letter which you can use to send to your local Rabbi and Cantor to seek scholarships from their discretionary funds. This letter can also be used to seek funds from other local resources. You can find this letter at the top left hand corner of the page. | ||||||||||||
