The Jewish Organizing Fellowship is recruiting emerging social justice leaders for our year-long, paid community organizing training program in Boston. The Fellowship is a professional development opportunity for Jewish young adults (ages 21-30) who are currently working as organizers or who are looking for jobs in the field. If not already employed, Fellows are placed in full-time paid jobs that address a wide range of issues including: the environment, civil rights, health care, and interfaith cooperation. We seek Fellows who are eager to learn the theory and practice of community organizing and explore the connections between Judaism and social justice.

The Jerusalem Fund, a 501(c)(3)-registered private non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., announces a position available as Program Assistant. This entry-level position serves as an assistant to the Executive Director, the Program Manager, Accounts Associate and Cultural Consultant. The assistant handles program support and administrative tasks related to the smooth and efficient functioning of the office and events on a day-to-day basis. Program and Event Support
• Helps update the website and manages email distribution to listserv
• Coordinates event announcements and publicity; maintains RSVP lists for all events
• Coordinates event planning, staffing, set-up and clean-up for weekly and major events, including but not limited to re-arranging chairs/tables, duplicating informational materials, ordering catered food, working with AV equipment (microphones, projector, lighting, setting up Livestream feed, etc.)
• Edits videos using Sony Vegas software for all live events
• Copy-edits and helps design Palestine Center publications as well as Jerusalem Fund informational materials
• Coordinates guest researchers use of library
Administration Support
• Staffs reception and gallery area and monitors visitors
• Receives, distributes, and issues Fund mail; schedules shipping pick-ups
• Answers 4-line phone system, taking messages, and monitoring the main voicemail and RSVP lines
• Makes travel and hotel arrangements for Executive Director, Board of Directors and speakers
• Coordinates all technical vendor work, including photocopier, postage machine and email accounts
• Orders office and kitchen supplies and maintains office inventory
• Assists in mailings and faxing
• Coordinates with building for all maintenance requests and mail pickups
REQUIREMENTS:
• B.A. with 1-2 years office experience.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, HTML, etc.)
• A professional and friendly demeanor; punctual, responsible.
• Strong spoken and written English skills, Arabic language fluency (spoken).
• Some event coordination experience.
